George Couros is a forward thinking educator, in this post “Choosing Not to Know” he writes about the differing acceptance of opening networks in various school districts.
Seriously, people have open networks and have very few issues yet so many others with closed networks talk about the fear of what could be if schools decided to open their network.
Does looking only within our own organizations and focusing on the “fear factor” really help our students?
Fear of the unknown – or of that not understood- can stand in the way of good learning. Decisions need to be based on valid reasoning, not worse case of ‘what if’ or fear.
